Guangzhou Sino-Israel Bio-Industry Incubaion Center

Guangzhou Sino-Israel Bio-Industry Incubation Center(“BIG”) was established in August 2018 with its mission to promote the development cooperation of the biological industry, fully benchmark from the Israeli government's model of supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, issue new policies in light of local conditions to identify and invest in promising medical device and drugs from all over the world and bring them to Guangzhou. Since its establishment, BIG has settled 17 projects from Israel, Britain, mainland China and other places, 5 of them have successfully exited the incubator.

History
2012

The cooperation between Guangzhou International Bio Island and Dr. Shuki Gleitman’s team was forged

2013

Guangzhou was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission as one of the four key regions in China for high-tech industrial cooperation between China and Israel

2015

Guangzhou Sino-Israel Bio Industry Investment Fund (GIBF) was launched

2017

Incubator management company – Guangzhou Yisheng Investment Company was established

A special fund policy to support incubation projects from BIG was released by Guangzhou Development District (Guangzhou Huangpu District)

2018

The Guangzhou Sino-Israel Bio Industry Incubation Center was launched in Guangzhou International Bio Island, embracing its first two projects for incubation

2020

First project graduated and exit the incubator

2022

Guangzhou Sino-Israel cooperation has been included in the 14th Five Year Plan of Guangzhou

2023

Version 2.0 of the special fund policy was released

Funding Usage
R&D expenditure

Special funds can be used for project R&D costs, managed and jointly supervised by the Guangzhou Development District's Development and Reform Department and BIG.

Funding Repayment
Repayment

When the conditions for repayment specified in the policy are met, the project company should repay the special funds obtained as required. The special funds do not generate any interest.
